Every system needs a Subwoofer! 'Subby's' are dedicated solely to reproducing low-frequency sounds and are essential for Home Theatre and even add another dimension to most stereo music. The typical frequency range of human hearing is between 20-20,000Hz. A Subwoofer is responsible only for the very low end of this range - 20Hz to 80Hz. Size is not the sole governing factor.
